Frank’s Blog : Push Through The Dip.

Most people start. Starting something is not hard at all, but finishing is not quite simple as we think it is when we start.

That’s why 80% of all small businesses fail in their first 5 years, 50% of all marriages end up in divorce and surprisingly 60% of all second marriages fail too.

Why is it that we can’t seem to stick it out to the end? Some of you reading this, used to take ballet lessons, or were a cheerleader when you were young and you quit doing it. You didn’t even think about it, because it’s normal to quit ballet after a certain age.

So quitting is already in us, we don’t have to force ourselves to quit something, we actually have to force ourselves to stay in it, to stick out, to push through the dip, to make it on the other side.

Don’t start a project unless you have invested what it’s going to take to finish it.

When you start something, the idea is not to say I’m going to make this happen. The idea is to say I’m going to make this happen until I do. There is going to be lot’s of detour, lot’s of dead end, but I’m not going to stop until I do.
