Over the weekend a friend of mine (who we went to the same boarding high school for 6 years) recommended a movie he was watching called The Imitation Game. This movie is a 2014 British historical drama film, based on the 1983 biography Alan Turing: The Enigma by Andrew Hodges. The title of the film quotes the name of the game Alan Turing proposed for answering the question “Can machines think? “, in his 1950 seminal paper “Computing Machinery and Intelligence.
While I was watching this movie, couple phrases caught my attention:
“Sometimes it’s the very people who no one imagines anything of, who do the things that no one can imagine.”
“Just because something (someone) thinks differently from you, does that mean it’s (they are) not thinking?”
These are powerful words in a great movie.
H/T: Arsene for recommending this movie!
