We ought to stop criticizing other people’s creative work. If you don’t like something, then it’s not for you, It wasn’t made for you, it was made for someone else, someone who appreciate it, who won’t stop talking about it, who can’t get enough of the thing.
Instead of crushing someone’s work, maybe say ‘thank you so much for this, it really shows how much you care and what it means to you but it’s not for me’. and if they want it to be yours, they will make the changes you want; but let’s not start by saying if you want me to want this, I want these changes,.. because they probably didn’t make it for you! (whatever “it” is)
