If you have done leadership right, people will hug you on their way out the door.
If they get a better paying job or you fire them, they will know that you tried everything you can, that you invested in them, that you were there for them, that you cared about them as human being, that it just wasn’t working out professionally and that it’s okay. They will thank you!
